Well - after a season of okish episodes - Dr Who has scored three great episodes in a row.
This weeks episode - BLINK - is another great episode. And to make it even more impressive, it´s one that could have easily failed.
Last season there was an episode (Love and monsters) where the Doctor doesnt feature much. And they did it again. This is mainly because it gives them a chance to film two episodes at the same time.
But last seasons ´doctor lite´ episode was disapointing. In fact, it was pretty lame.
But this one - it´s great.
Great acting all around - and a good story to boot.
To be honest - my only criticism is that they included the Doctor too much. If they had skiped the scene in the past where you meet the doctor - it would have worked even better - with more suspence. But - you cant have everthing.
Next week Captain Jack comes back - and later on we get to meet the Master. If they can continue episodes of this caliber - it will be fantastic.
Whatever you do - dont blink an eye...

For those of you who I havent told - and who havent followed the link a few posts down - I somehow managed to win a cometition.
I rarely win anything (a LCD monitor and a hamper of food is about all I have ever won). But this time I won first prize. Granted - I won first prize with the LCD too - but the point is that it´s not common.
And it wasnt just a random draw either - it was based on the originality and quality of a blog post.
A while ago Microsoft offered a deal to people with Aussie Uni Email addresses - allowing them to buy Office 2007 (Ultimat version) for $75. Normally it costs over $1000 - so the saving is huge.
Anyway - at the same time they offered a competition for people who mention it in their blogs. Sort of a ´word of mouth´ way of advertising it.
So I made a post using photos I took of my lego soldiers - and wrote a silly little story about King William Gates and his battle against the Evil Lord Macintosh etc.
I entered it in the competition as a bit of a laugh. I definatly didnt expect it to win anything.
And suddenly....
I get an email saying I´d won the first prize.
Even one of the guys who got one of the smaller prizes mentioned me in their blog (http://www.istartedsomething.com/20070605/itsnotcheating-prize/). He was quite impressed with my silly little story too.
So I have apparently won myself a Vespa (scooter) with $1000 to equip myself ready to ride.
Not that I desperatly needed a Vespa - but hey, I wont complain.
I got a call from the competition guys today saying that I´d forgotten to tell them what State I was in (which I fixed) and that they´d pass my details on to the Vespa guys and they should get in contact with me soon regarding pickup.
I just still dont beleive it.
I had just ordered a printer and wireless mouse on the net - and I thought that was big news - but it sort of pales into insignificance in comparison.
I´m still struggling to believe it...

Well - you learn something new everyday. And sometimes it´s even usefull. I was looking for something completely different (how to record a MAC address in AutoIT) and I stumbled across this little gem.
In XP (probably Vista and who knows what else) if you suddenly find yourself with a mouse and no keyboard (which has happened from time to time) you can click Start->Run and type "OSK" and you get an On Screen Keyboard.
Not the sort of thing you´d need everyday - but when you do need it, it´d be very handy to know.

UPDATE!
My Dad just raised a very good point. If you dont have a keyboard - you cant type OSK to get this one.
So it´s back to being nearly pointless.
Stupid me for not thinking of that earlier.

FURTHER UPDATE
Nifen tells me that you can access it from the ACCESSIBILITY menu option. So you can turn it on using the mouse. Unfourtuantly I cant check this - because my copy of XP has been Nlited and dosnt have ACCESSIBILITY anymore (I got ride of the stuff I never use).

Well, congrats jawapro.com! We now have over 500 users registered.
As of this writing we have 526.
That would really be a huge accomplishment - except for a small fact. Probably less than 26 of them are real people.
The rest are bots that automatically signed up to try and advertise various things.
I really should get around to finishing my new website so I can avoid this...
If only I wasnt so lazy...
