Agfest - Tassie's biggest 'Field Day' and one of the biggest in the country. Puts all the shows and carnivals around to shame.
I managed to come away without spending too much - but only just... Those lockers were seriously tempting...

Oscar's new door...jawaproMon 03/05/2010 10:36 PM
Well - it’s been a while, but we’ve finally fixed the broken rear window on Oscar (my Pajero).
After getting quotes around the place and deciding they were too expensive, we asked the wreckers for a window. They were happy to oblige, until they broke it getting out. After that proved too hard, they told us they’d let us swap rear doors for the price of the window.
So on Saturday, Dad and I made the trek to Launceston 4x4 Parts and Panels and swapped the rear doors. Went surprisingly well (thanks mostly to Dad!). I was worried it’d be a lot harder to swap the lock and latch, but it wasn’t all that bad. We even scored a piece of door trim (mine was munted) and a few odds and ends for inside the car too.
So thanks to Launceston 4x4 for letting us do it - and a massive thanks to Dad for helping me out yet again.
The new rear window is even tinted! I’ll just have to tint the rest to match now...
Where old Pajeros go to die.
Series 1 Pajeros.
Am I the only one that thinks that Toyota cab would make an awesome garden ornament?
This one wasn’t being wrecked. It’s a H1, that’s a real Hummer! Might be American and massively over-sized, but I still think Hummers are cool.
Thanks again Dad!

Stolen Car Part 2....jawaproMon 03/05/2010 10:19 PM
Well - last night my neighbour was saying how it served the hoodies right because the car had almost no fuel in it when they stole it.
Well turns out they stopped and filled it up. Nice of them, especially now that the cops have CCTV of them.
They took the car somewhere muddy, had a heap of fun (judging by the mud smeared everywhere), wrecked a tyre, and then returned the car.
That's right - they parked the car exactly where they took it from. Nice and thoughtful of them really.
When I left for work this morning, the forensic guy had just arrived to take fingerprints.

Stolen Car....jawaproSun 02/05/2010 09:35 PM
Well that was more excitement than I was expecting on a Sunday night....
I came home in my Pajero tonight (I'll post that story later) and as I pulled into my street there was a group of kids in hoodies walking up the street. I had to play car shuffle to get the Pajero behind the Subaru (which I'm using tomorrow) so I was coming and going a bit, but I saw the group walk past my house and then come back and up a driveway towards a group of units across the streets.
When I went back out to get the Subaru which I'd parked on the street for a minute - my neighbor from one of the units across the road came out asking if I'd seen anyone - because his car had just been stolen!
The cops turned up and I told them the little I'd seen. That could have so easily been my Subaru if I had been 10 minutes later getting home. This isn't one of the better neighbourhoods around - but thankfully I havent had any issues. I'll be praying it stays that way. Prayer - doesn't mean you wont have issues, but it's the best insurance you can get.
