New CamerajawaproMon 19/07/2010 10:29 PM
For quite a while now I’ve been thinking of getting a smaller camera. Not to replace my main one – I’d have to go bigger for that. But as a smaller alternative. For times when you want to put a camera in your pocket and not have to wear it around your neck all day or carry a backpack.
I was going to save up and get as good a small camera as I could (and probably waterproof) but Dick Smith were selling this one for about $70, so I figured I couldn’t really go wrong with it. Sure it's nothing special - but for the price of about 4 sets of film in the old tech, it's not too shabby.

Emma moves homejawaproMon 19/07/2010 10:19 PM
After finishing her Honours at uni, my sister decided it was time to move back up north. At least until she finds a job.
So my parents and I went down on Saturday and helped her move out of her tiny shoe-box apartment and into a small truck, and then into an even smaller room at Mum and Dads. It remains to be seen how well things fit there.
So to the Honourable Emma Kingston, Welcome back to the North!

Collector or BuilderjawaproTue 13/07/2010 08:35 PM
The Lego house picture has been demolished for parts. I bought the set because it’d been discounted pretty drastically and comes with a nice collection of pieces. But I just had to put it together once before I parted it out.
This marks somewhat of a departure for me. Over the last few years I’ve been getting my old sets back together again by buying any missing pieces from Bricklink. These sets are kept in separate bags and almost nothing could convince me to part them out.. But here I am deliberately breaking a set down into it’s pieces with no plans to keep it together as a set.
The collector in me isn’t sure that it’s a good idea. The builder in me says it is.
So am I a collector or a builder? If I am both, where does the collector stop and the builder begin?

Well now, it’s been a while since I posted. Life’s been busy.
Sydney was interesting. Not exactly exciting, but interesting. I was there for a training course, so most of my time was spent on that. The view out the window was pretty speccy (see above), but the view on the other side of the bed was less so. Not sure why anyone would put a full size window looking into the dunny - but that’s the way it was. At least I wasn’t sharing the room.
I flew back in via an overnight in Melbourne and got into Devonport in time for a meeting. Rather tiring all that flying and working.
Thursday was Dorks, but as there were only three of us we watched a movie and had a minor Nerf war instead. Late night again.
Friday was Simon’s birthday party - which went off really well. Yet another late night.
Saturday was only half a day by the time I woke up. Went and watched Predators with Tim and Tom. Not bad. Not quite sure what I think of the second species, but apart from that it was actually pretty sweet.
Sunday was normal, but Monday saw me heading off to Melbourne on the ship for yet another training course. Getting sick of travelling. Speaking of which, I had a killer migraine on Monday night, so it was the closest to being sick on the ship I’ve been, even thought it was a very calm sailing.
Anyway - that’s the round-up for now.
