These cute little guys are DiNOSEaurs - and are being sold to raise money for Red Nose Day.
I don’t mind supporting charities like this - and it’s a good way to get rid of $12 worth of 5 and 10 cent pieces...

Chris...jawaproTue 05/06/2012 04:19 PM
Ok - been a while since I posted.
The biggest news lately is that my Mechanical Cousin - the famous 'Chris' pictured above has decided to move out.
He's been living here for over a year - but his partner has a job in Launceston so they've both decided to move into a house in Devonport.
So my house is once again a one-man house. I'll miss the extra rent money though - and I'll really miss the surround sound system when he takes it away....
Oh yeah - Chris was messing with my camera the other day and took this photo of himself. He is probably doing an impression of the look he'll give me when he discovers I've posted it - but we'll see....

Save our West Coast...jawaproTue 22/05/2012 10:50 PM
A convoy of about 200 4WDs stretched from Burnie to Wynyard on the way to Smithton on the weekend - and Oscar and I were in the thick of it.
It was the "Save Our Heritage" rally. There was somewhere between 4000 and 6000 people there to protest against the government’s desire to lock up the Arthur Pieman conservation area. We all want the area to be managed properly - but we want to have access to it at the same time.
It’s my first ever political rally - and the mood was described as ‘angry but peaceful’.
It made the front page of the Advocate - and hardly a mention in the other papers. And of course, some of the TV news spent more time focusing on the Green Party’s response rather than the protest itself.
Roothy from 4WD Action (what a legend) was on hand to deliver a cracking speech, as were quite a few locals. The local Aboriginal council were on hand to lend their support - which puts them at odds with their Hobart counterparts who are pushing for the closures. Those who know the area best are right beside us in the fights against the track closures.
The Liberal were on hand to say that if they are elected they will reverse the closures and keep the area open. I vote Liberal anyway - so I hope they’ll keep their promises.
I filmed some of the convoy and rally and you can see it below. The only problem with my awesome Gopro camera is that it doesn’t have a zoom.

Stumped...jawaproMon 21/05/2012 10:16 AM
There is no joy in this - but needs must be done.
In order to make room for my upcoming shed, I needed to remove my awesome Nectarine tree as well as an odd red bushy tree and a grape vine.
It's sad to cut down a perfectly healthy tree - but a shed will be far more use for me - and I'll landscape the backyard again when the shed has been built.
Timelapse of the trees being removed:
