As Turkey pointed out, it's been exactly a year since the first Statewide Shuffle!
1 year ago today I picked up Rothgar the G60 ute and discovered Glados the wagon!
It might not seem like much progress has been made since then - but I am about to order my shed, so things have been ticking along, even if it has been slow and invisible up to this point.

Two more episodes before our second favorite Doctor leaves our screens for good.
How will it end? Will one of our beloved characters die in the final? How many of the past stars will return?
Will it be a fitting end to such a brilliant series?

This is the tale of how I know Grant Bowler doesn’t like cats...
I have a cat, his name is Neptune.
Neptune was born without a brain - but manages to cope fairly well with life considering.
One of his favourite toys is a laser pointer I found from somewhere. He loves it when I pick it up and let him chase the dot around the house. It’s the most exercise he ever gets!
If you pick up a pen to write something - he thinks it's the laser pointer and gets very excited.
Well - the laser pointer died a while ago - so I decided to buy him a new one.
And like all small cheap bits of gadgetry - the cheapest place to buy a laser pointer is to ebay it from Hong Kong.
But here’s where Grant comes in.
The office of Border Security and Customs sent me a letter to say that they’d found my laser pointer in the mail - but they hate cats and have decided to confiscate it.
As we all know, Grant works for Border Security - so it must have been him who sent me the letter!
Therefore Grant hates cats.
Neptune is very upset.
In other news - apparently it’s illegal to import laser pointers...

The government and the greens want to lock people out of the West Coast again. This time it's getting serious - so we're organizing a rally in Smithton on the 20th. They want as many people there as they can get. It's not about taking 4wds to the rally - just people. The more people, the more notice will be taken. It's not just about 4wding - it's about anyone who wants access to the West Coast.
If you've been camping on the West Coast and want to go back - or have never been and would like to one day - it's time to make a stand.
We all want the West Coast to be protected and managed properly - but we want to be able to access it too.
I plan to join Roothy in Smithton - will you be there?

Whoever decided that "Battleships" would be a good base for a movie needs to be taken out and shot.
On the other hand, the person who took that idea and turned it into an actual watchable movie deserves a medal - considering what he was working with.
Don't get me wrong - Battleships isn't a great movie. The aliens look like Transformer and Halo rejects - and the movie completely ignores physis (handbreak turn in a Battleship anyone?) and has some rather obvious plot holes, but it wasn't as bad as expected.
In fact it was sort of fun.
So in short - if you've got nothing better to do - go and watch the Avengers - it's far better than Battleships. If you've already seen that and have a free ticket - Battleships isn't as bad as you'd expect.
