Brief Update

It's been a pretty good week. Emma was up for most of it - and helped me get Neptune (my cat) all settled in. He's doing great, even if he's a little confused and nervouse about the washing machine. Wait until he meets the clothes dryer!

Emma said we looked like a pair of slobs in the above photo. I think he'll fit right in.

In other news - I got another lego order from Bricklink. This one came all the way from Austria - because I wanted a particular technic dude (the Borg one). This means I'm very close to finishing off all my lego sets. Unfourtuantly the bits I still need are less common, so it might still mean a couple of orders from different people.

I also finally put a new graphics card in JadesFire. She was overheating when I played any games - which is part of the reason why I bought Phaeton. But I was still using it as a media centre - and it was slowely getting worse. Now it over-heats just watching divx files.

I bought a 8400 Geforce a while back for $30 and finally got around to installing it. Hopefully that will solve the problems.

And excitingly - I finally got some RAM back from pccasegear. I love ordering from them - its so easy. But their support sucks. Took over a month to get my RAM back (it was faulty). I still have 2 sticks to get replaced - hopefully it wont take so long this time. Apparently my warrenty return just got overlooked - but thats not a good excuse.

And for the 4th time running, my weekend LAN at MartianLeader's has been put on hold. Eventually it might actually happen.....

On hold again?!?  At least you won't have to leave Neptune at home alone for as long over the weekend.

You and Neptune look like you get along great. Btw, hope you realized my comments about dancing last night were purely me being goofy - not trying to make fun of you or anything. I can be pretty goofy when tired.

Your cat may dislike the washing machine.... Our baby dislikes the vacuum. Eyes wide, lower lip coming out, and then a bit of crying. But after awhile she fell asleep in the carrier as I was vacuuming. Her scare probably has to do with the fact she hasn't been exposed to the vacuum that often since she was born.

Btw, getting us into Dr. Who has had negative consequences... our internet slowed to 256 MB from 2,000 MB or so because we watched so many YouTube episodes. Now we can't Skype with our video going anymore or the connection dies. :( Gonna hafta wait until July 20 for the speed to get back to normal.

You could always up your download limit to a sensible amount.

Personally I have a 60G a month limit. Havent gone over it lately.

60Gb? Last time I heard you only had 40! You've gone up in the world. Mind you, I know somebody who consistently (as in, every month) blows his 120Gb limit.

But anyway.

And is that the same LAN that you were going to the next weekend after you were in Hobart, or is that a different one and I'm confused?

You will proably find that Neptune won't like the vacuum cleaner either. Both our cat's hate them, at least to varying degrees... The neurotic one is SLIGHTLY worse than the other.
