Ok - I got the rest of my games from Microsoft yesterday. Apparently the first shipment got lost somewhere - so they resent them (minus original packaging).
So I now am the proud owner of Project Gotham Racing 4 - which isnt a bad racing game. I also got a game called Crackdown - which is a bit like a GTA game - but thats not too bad.
The disapointment was the fact that I was originally promised Dead Or Alive 4 - and I ended up with Dead Or Alive Extreme 2.
Now - DoA4 is a fighting game. You control a character on the screen and attempt to bash up the other player before they can knock you uncounsious. Not much to the game - but it can be fun - especially when played multiplayer (I've played it in Harvey Norman on their demo machines).
The annoying part about DoA4 is the anime chicks. I hate anime - so that dosnt appeal to me. There are a lot of... um... rather well endowed anime chicks in the DoA games. But even with so much anime influence, it can still be fun to bash your friends up for a while in the multiplayer mode.
But instead of DoA4, I got DoA:E2.
Now - obviously some people played the DoA games just because of said anime chicks. Because in the Extreme games - that's all there is to it.
You have the chicks from the games (and none of the guys) and you play Beach Volley-ball and jet-ski games and so on.
So unless watching anime chicks in bikinis running around a beach is your cup of tea - the game is rather pointless. And as someone who detests the anime style of drawing/animation - I dont fit that category at all. I've been a member of the Anti-Anime Society for years. Granted, I'm the only member - but that dosnt matter.
I'm sure there will be some people reading this that'll think I'm nuts - and that the chance to watch these ladies play volleyball with their boobs bouncing all over the place would be fantastic. But not I.
I should point out though - that this isnt a criticism against MS. They didnt make the game itself - and the person who emailed me actually thought that it was just the newer version - and therefore a better game. And they said they would look into seeing if they could do something about it (swap or something). Dont know what will come of that yet.
Sadly I'm not sure if EB will take a trade-in without the original packaging... Shame, there are a couple of interesting games out of the Xbox now.
