Transformers Movie

Well - that was a pleasant suprise. A movie that actually exceeds expectations. I've been a light hearted Transformers fan for a long time. And I thought that this movie would suck big time. But being a Transformers fan, I had to check it out. So I rallied my troops (friends) and headed off to Cmax to check it out.

And suprisingly, it was pretty good. Very different to the old cartoon - but very cool.

In fact, the only thing I really didnt like was the change to the characters faces. The Autobots werent too bad (Prime looked best when in 'battle mode' when his face plate appears).

But Megatron and Starscream especially looked wrong.

Which you can see is a lot different.

But apart from that - the movie was pretty awesome.

And just to prove that I'm a Transformer's Fan - here's a picture of my most recent addition. The original Megatron - Revoltech edition. It cant transform - but it is extremely flexible and poseable.

I just watched a doco about this - and there was an insane amount of this movie that was actually done live. You sort of expect most of it to be CG - but a lot wasnt. Of course the robots were - but a lot of the rest (exploding buses, cars flying through the air) was actually filmed there and then. Pretty impressive actually.
