Shed Lining

Have you finished the shed yet?

I get asked that question a lot. And I’ve been saying "I’m lining it" for quite a while now - but it’s almost finished!

The above section is the only bit that remains to be lined. It takes a couple of blokes to cut the MDF, but another session and we’d pretty much have it done.

Chris was giving me a hand - but he’s moved out now (got a job in Hobart!) so I’ve had to look further afield.

And this time my mates have all come to the party! Jason, James, Tom, and Wes have all come over for a while to give me a hand - in fact, they were ALL here last night!

Wether anyone else thinks my lining of the shed is a good idea or not, I’m pretty happy with the way it’s come out. The only problems are that I accidentally changed MDF width part way though, so there are some odd sections, and my insulation paper ran out just before the finish (that section around the door is the only part that missed out).

Just wait until it’s finished and covered in posters and flags and things - it’ll look sweet!

Stop Tempting me Internet!

Ever see something on eBay that you don’t really want yet, but you know it will never turn up again?

Well, that’s pretty much these Blitz trucks.

You see, I’ve admired Blitz trucks for a while, and said that if my G60s get restored and I want a project afterwards, maybe it would be a Blitz.

But I wanted a short wheel-base Blitz. They are rare (Blitzs in general are rare - shortys are rare amidst rarity). Most are big trucks, but the short ones would suit me better, and look awesome.

Well - a pair of Blitz’s turned up on eBay. The good one was short. They were cheap. And they were in Launceston!!!!

That’d be pretty much perfect! Better than you'd have any right to hope for.

 Image

So why haven’t I bought them? Well - I currently have a paddock full of G60s that I haven’t even started working on. There’s not a lot of point collecting stuff for a possible post-G60 project before I at least start on them.

Plus, I think my Mum would have kittens if I started storing old World War II trucks at her place in addition to the G60 collection.

Of course, if I do enjoy restoring the G60s and want to do up a Blitz afterwards, the stars will never align like this again.

And if that wasn’t enough to tempt me - this G60 has turned up for sale near Exeter.

 Image

It’s LONG. I think the body is custom - but it’s been a pop-top camper. As a G60 fan, this would make a pretty awesome camper.

Off road you’d constantly get hung up on that massive arse though - but still it’s rather cool. And it’s a going unit at a relatively cheap price.

So yeah, the Internet has been tempting me a bit lately. So far I’ve managed to resist though.

Segway Adventure

A few weekends ago Dad, Emma, and I headed out to Hollybank to have a whirl on some Segways.

 Image

Segways are awesome machines and awesome fun - I’m just not very awesome at it. Of the three of us, I had the hardest time getting used to the Segway - and was the only one of us to come off :(

After falling off on the training course, we headed off into the bush for quite a fun day zooming around on these crazy things.

 Image

It might be easier than walking - but your feet still get rather sore from standing in the one spot for hours.

 Image

The tour guides took photos at a few locations along the track - hence the photos.

 Image

Emma and Dad enjoying themselves - both far better segwayers than me. Even if I wasn’t much good at it - I had a ball and would go again.

 Image

And happy Birthday for last year Dad (Emma gave him the segway voucher, which we finally got around to using).

This was my display at Brickvention this year. It’s very small and rather disappointing - but at least I managed to get something together.

And it combines my Lego and 4wding addictions.

All the vehicles are official Lego sets, I just staged them in a display.

Welcome to Brickvention 2014!

Due to my untimely camera death - the photos this year come mainly thanks to Jason (wether you think that improves or decreases the quality is up to you).

Jason had fun taking photos and decided we should do it at all the shows (I have been anyway) so we decided to organize a flikr account to share the photos we take.

All the previous Brickvention photos are now online - and the 2014 ones are coming online (sadly you can only do 200 at a time, so it takes ages).

We decided to call ourselves "NotOfficialPhotography" as we’re always being asked if we’re the official photographers.

So our Flikr is now: http://www.flickr.com/photos/notofficialphotography

In the meantime, here are a few highlights for people who don’t want to explore the flikr.
