Brickvention - Training Day

Ok - so it’s yet more brickvention photos - sorry to non-Lego fans.

This time it’s some of the trains and their displays. The Lego Train-Heads are a breed of their own, and some of their stuff is insanely good.

Now, city layout can include trains, and train layouts can include cities etc, but if you’re a train-head, the city is just a backdrop for the trains.

 

That said - it can be a VERY impressive backdrop.

 

This one is a replica of the town of Ararat, Victoria from 1974.

 

Take a few minutes looking at this building. The detail they have put into this is insane. It’s not easy to get those textures out of Lego.

 

The main way we got around Melbourne on the weekend.

 

Puffing Billy (larger scale than the other trains).

 

The Wild West - sort of a train layout.

 

Once again, the detail is very impressive, including the groundwork.

 

And yes, Lego did make Indian sets - about 10 years ago.

 

And as an in-joke for Lego fans. This train is build out of Power Miners sets. Sweet!

There were many more trains - but it's difficult to take long exposure photos of moving trains.

For any "normal" model railroaders who stumble across this blog, Lego trains are "L" scale.

Absolutely amazing.  I love my Lego train, but I'm not anywhere near this.  They have to have spent 10x more time into the scenery than the train. That's a lot of patience and determination.
