Brickbeard's Trap

In addition to the Swarm Fighters, I also contributed to Brickbeard’s Trap - a combined Pirates display.

Timeprowler decided to organize a major Pirate display, and asked people to bring their ships along. I brought my Black Seas Barracuda (the original Pirate Ship) as well as my 2 Viking Longboats. I also brought along a Fort.

The following are three classic Lego Pirate sets. What do you get when you add them all together?

 Image

Well - this is what I got.

 Image

Is it an Inn, or a Fort, or a fortified Inn? Not sure - but the idea was that it kept recognizable elements from each of the three official buildings. This was my contribution to the town section of the display.

Anyway - on with the show!

 Image

This is the Death’s Breath. It’s a custom Pirate ship - and was the centre-piece of the display.

 Image

The Death’s Breath is being pursued by the Royal Navy. The Imperials think they have the pirates on the run!

 Image

Sadly for them - they can’t see around the cliff here. The Pirate captain, Brickbeard, has a surprise in store.

 Image

The chase is on!..…

 Image

Admiral Ackbar knows what’s up.

 Image

Hidden by the cliff is a mass of Pirate ships as well as the Pirate’s allies. This includes Vikings, Trolls, and a half-sea monster ship from Atlantis. They outnumber the Imperials about 3 to 1.

 Image

The Pirates are busy sacking the village. Note my Fort right in the middle! The pirates have cleared it out already and are in the process of raising their own colours and looting (one pair of Pirates is making off with a drum of Rum... why has all the Rum gone? Because the pirates stole it!)

 Image

In another section of the village, the pirates are getting ready to roast some marshmallows, or villagers.

 Image

And the docks are being looted by a whole crowd of pirates.

 Image

The majority of these small craft belong to me. Gotta love the pair of pirates who are trying to steal a cow - it makes the boat a little unsteady.

 Image

But the village has not lost all hope - a force of Imperial Soldiers arrives by land.

 Image

These pirates can’t believe it!

 Image

This soldier is leading the charge armed only with a sword and a stick! These imperials are crazy...

Now for some of the slightly more hidden elements of the display (the ones I had something to do with).

 Image

This is a custom Where’s Wally minifig I hid in the cliffs.

 Image

The islanders are cooking up a mermaid feast (thanks to Richie for the lend of the mermaid). Does mermaid count as seafood?

 Image

My pirate ship - the captain is currently winning a dual with an evil Ninja.

 Image

The rest of the crew are forcing another Ninja to walk the plank. In case you didn’t know, I support the pirates in the Pirates vs Ninja debate.

 Image

What shall we do with a drunken sailor?

 Image

Can’t believe I didn’t take a better photo of this - but this is one of my Viking Longships. It has 12 Vikings, and 1 Arab onboard. If anyone knows the significance of that - you have my respect.

 Image

So that’s Brickbeard’s Trap. Just one of many displays at Brickvention - but this is one that I helped with. Well done on organizing it all Timeprowler - lots or time and work went into this!

Imagine - one little typo and Brickbeard would suddenly have a Tarp, although what a pirate would do with that is a mystery.

So the thirteenth warrior went along too?

Looks like someone had fun with the storyline as well as the building.
