Weekend Report

Ok - so it’s taken me a long time to get around to this - but here’s how I spent my weekend.

MrTrojan (the imposter, not Mr Trojen with an E) invited me to a laser skirmish in Hobart. It’s a fair way to go - but laser skirmishes are awesome, so I agreed.

The laser skirmish was on Saturday arvo, and a heap of fun. John (MartinLeader/Gerillius) and I ended up on the Hobartian team - because most of their team dropped out. It’s rather ironic that the Launceston team was larger, and we’re 2 hours away (I was 3) and the Hobartians are only 10 minutes away and couldn’t find players.

It’s the first time I’ve played in the winter - so the mud etc was new - but it was still a heap of fun. We won one match by a large margin - but lost the other ones (largely thanks to Stu attacking his teammates).

On their way home (they went back on Saturday night - I stayed until Sun arvo) MartinLeader’s engine fell out of his car, and MrTrojan’s headlights stopped working and he was pulled over by the cops - so they were stuck at Oatlands until someone was able to rescue them - but they said they enjoyed it anyway.

I also had a secondary reason for going to Hobart. BigW were advertising the new Space Police lego. That was exciting for me (being a lego fan) because the sets weren’t due to come out for months. It was a BigW exclusive though (not sure if it’s eventually coming out elsewhere or not) and we don’t have a BigW up here, so I’d have to go to Hobart to get them.

Turns out BigW is a stupid shop. It’s not logical at all - they have things spread everywhere. They also didn’t have a very good range. I had to go to all three BigW shops in Hobart to find the sets I wanted - and even then I couldn’t find 2. Ah well - I suppose that saved me some money ?

Klutz (who was down for the laser skirmish) and I spent the night at Emma’s - which was nice. I haven’t seen much of her lately - she’s been busy with her new job and house-sitting.

On Sunday I was able to check out the new Church building in Hobart (they’ve moved) and catch up with Turkey over lunch. I was also able to pick up my new 1TB hdd that Turk had ordered for me.

All in all it was a great weekend. Just a pity I didn’t take any pictures.

MartinLeader had car trouble - his engine didn’t really fall out.

I was having much more fun imagining his engine actually falling out of the car as he was driving along. *plonk* Then you had to ruin everything by adding a disclaimer :)
