Very Dodgey DVD Stopper Thing...

Well - decided to do a little more building today. Extremely shoddy work - but it was more to prove an idea than actually build something usefull (well, that's what I decided after I started and realised how shoddy it was going to be anyway).

My DVD shelves have an annoying habbit of being rather deep. Thats good if you want to keep two rows of dvds on one shelf - but not so good if you dont. You end up with DVDs being pushed too far back, falling over, and getting lost for the next few years.

So I wanted to build a stopper that would well, stop that from happening.

So a couple of minutes with my circular saw, a pen that doesn't work, and no measuring tape, table, clamps etc I ended up with these. It was only scrap bits of mdf - so I didn't waste anything.

And it works quite well - apart from looking extremely dodgey (which you don't see when the DVDs are there anyway).

They arn't as obviously shoddy in the pictures as I thought it might be - but the cuts are all over the place, and the joins are as straight as a corner etc.

I have plenty - I just took them out to take the photo.

I plan to make something similar for the bottom shelf (which is higher) which will have a second story at the back. The shelf is about a DVD and a half high, so the back row will be half a DVD higher than the front, so you'll still be able to read the covers (mostly) and my less favorite DVDs will be given a back row seat.

I'm running out of shelf space.
