Ok - suspense is over now - you can relax.

This is what was in the Toyworld bag from last week.

Martianleader guessed it - it's Lego!

You see - I've been working on doing an inventory of all my lego sets over the last few weeks, and comparing them with the official inventories on http://www.peeron.com. Considering how much I played with my lego over the years - I'm not really missing that many pieces.

At the same time I was talking to Mike (Oblivion) about Lego, and complaining that the only sets I'm interested in are ones that aren’t produced any more. Of course, there is the Star Wars Lego - but I'm not collecting that, because there's just too much of it.

Most of the Lego I'd like to collect is about 10-20 years old now, and you can only get it second-hand. But there has been a couple of modern themes that I've liked the look of - but even they have been discontinued already.

One such theme is the Viking theme. It didn’t last very long - and there's only about 5 different sets (good for collectors, because it's easy to complete). I'd been watching a few of the Viking Long-boats on ebay, but they all sold for over $100 plus postage.

So I was very impressed when I walked into Toyworld in Devonport and found one still for sale. I was actually there to look at the boxes of bricks, to see if that would be a better way to complete my sets (I ended up going for http://www.bricklink.com instead) when I found this beauty.

I might have kept the suspense going a little longer - but my sister is planning to come and spend some time at my place while she's on holidays - and would have probably discovered the box, so I'm breaking the news before it gets spoilt.

I'll post some pictures after I build the set.

I'm planning to do some more Lego animating shortly - so stay tuned...

Isn't it funny that nobody wants to comment now that they know what it is?

Should have guessed lego.

Guess what. Well as i work for PCM. i can buy through them, or buy direct through TASPC. i found that as i work for PCM, i get things like cost +10% which isn't bad. For example. Scorptec sells samsung 500 gig sata hard drives for 99 dollars, but from TASPC just down the road from me, I can get them for $102, 3 dollars more!!! thats insanely good! considering i don't pay for postage, and everytime i buy from them, things get cheaper.

So if your down in hobart and want something, let me know, i'll pick it up for you, you can pay me, and you'll have the receipt. I'm assuming you can take it back in Launceston as well considering its the same store, just 2 branches of it.

Nice hey :) About to get 2x 500 gigs, and 2x Vantex EX Aluminam Caddy drives. Just waiting till i get paid. After that, i shouldn't.... For crying out loud! need anything for months and months, and i can start to really save. so far i've only saved about 700 its pretty crappy saving on my behalf!

Yeah - I spent a fair bit when I first moved out on washing machines and furnature and things like that - but after that, I went quiet for a while. I saved for a year before I bought my pc, tv, and house. I didnt save enough to be able to buy the house outright, but you get that...

I was able to save a decent amount, but I guess my rent wasnt as bad as yours though.
