Well, after trying hard to talk Turkeybrain into selling me his old server case, he finally caved. And I've finally received the case itself.

It's fantastically huge, and over the next few days I plan to strip it of all the componants (which belong to Mr Turkeybrain) and decide my plan of attack for converting it to my new file server.

Oh yeah, and Mr Turkey wasnt able to use the case because it was locked and he couldnt get into it. Well, 2 minutes with my Dad and a screwdriver, that problem was solved. LOL!

I was also working under the intent of not breaking it. Unlike those who eventually got in. I didn´t want it damaged. Unlike Jawapro who is planning to cut big holes in it. I am actually disappointed. It should have only taken 30 sec if you wanted to get in! I could have beaten 2min easily!

No need to get so embaressed and defensive there Turkey.

Tis true that Dad used a bit more force than I would probably have done - but absolutely no damage was done to the case (or anything inside it).

But yes, I do plan to cut holes in the case. Means I have to find something to cut them with though... Might be more than my pocket knife can handle.

So, I´m curious. What are you planning to do to this that requires drilling holes?

Thats slightly complicated. I´ll write up a specs sheet tonight (hopefully) and upload it so you guys can know my plans.

Just for now I´ll say that it involves laptops, gig switches, a UPS, a power board, some try-hard lights, some more fans, and a large amount of harddrives.

More fans?! I thought it had enough as it was! Goodness me.

It only had 4. And if I´m going to add a heap of extra stuff that generates more heat - I want more fans. Simple.
