After reading the discussion a few posts ago about my new headlights and things - Turkeybrain decided to photoshop what my Subaru would look like with roof mounted driving lights.

Well, Klutz saw his version, and decided to go one better. Strangely, I could imagine myself driving this. :)

Thanks guys!

Gee, and I thought I had too much time on my hands!

Although I do think that would make your car look very cool. Much better than it currently does. Definitely go for that one!

geese rob, what on earth are you thinking. Now you look like one of those nobs from school who drove around in such crap looking car which would kill children in a second but a roo would destroy the car as the frame of the car can´t actually handle the mass.

Lol Nifen,

I´m not about to go and make my car look like that.

But I actually dont think it looks bad.

We are working on putting a small roo bar on the front. Just a small black piece of pipe at the bottom of the front bumper. Enough to try and prevent the possums etc from hitting the plastic bumper. Definatly not a real bullbar.

And I might get driving lights - either mounted to that, or possibly on the roof (I dont think that looks too bad). I like lots of light when I´m driving at night through the country roads.

And I couldnt be bothered with a 22 inch screen. Waste of time. My 17 LCD is plenty big enough to use as a PC monitor - and a 22 is still too small to use to watch movies on. I´d get a data projector instead.

I still think the whole rally style light array on the bonnet (http://rally.subaru.com/gallery/2007_snodrift/day2.22.07.jpg) would be the way to go. But then you would need to paint you car blue, and have a yellow logo down the side... And don't forget those gold rims and bonnet scoop, ect...

Yes - but the rally style lights would take exra effort (ignoring all the other suggestions).

You can get a roof bar for the scoobydoo, and then it would be easy to mount the lights up there.

We'll probably try and mount them on the roo bar instead. Somehow.

There´s a lot I'd LIKE to do to my car. Body kit, proper exhaust, hair dryer, etc. But I probably wont do any of it. I'm not enough of a car person to spend that sort of money on it.

But when I decide to buy a new car - I might get one with at least some of that.

Then again, I might not either.

Ah great - another blooming greenie.

If a roo/possum etc is frozen in the middle of the road by the lights - you can dodge it. No problem.

Problem is that they get scared by cars - and want to go back to familiar territory - which can be on the OTHER side of the road. So you often get them charging out staight in front of your car.

You can dodge something like that - and the lights dont make much difference. It's the noise that scares them. I want the lights to see the road - not to see the wildlife - cause it dosnt help me dodge things in situations like that.

And if the roo-bar was wrapped in foam, it wouldnt help matters much. Travelling at 100k or whatever, you'll still probably kill the little thing. It might possibly survive the original thump against the car - but you'll still end up driving over it - and if nothing else it'll be thrown against the road and that'd kill it.

The roo-bar wont make the roos and possums any worse off - it'll just protect the car a bit.

I've already got roo whistle things the are supposed to scare wildlife away when you're going over 80 - and I havent had much trouble since I've had them. But they dont work perfectly. Some wildlife still charge across.

And in case you've got the wrong idea - the roo bar is nothing like the bullbar in Klutz's picture. It;s just a small piece of pipe in front of the bumper giving it some strength. Anything that gets hit by it would be dead anyway, cause it'd otherwise hit the bumper.

Anyway - enough of a rant for now - but your post was just stupid.

gosh, did we hit a spot?

It was a jokeeee.

Build a role cage around the car. Then we can have some real fun?

How about changing your suspension? put 4 monster truck wheels on and you wont hit anything. even traffic won´t be a problem :)

Then again i´m doubting you´ve actually seen real traffic before :) Come to london, and be in traffic for 6 hours. yer woo.

Only thing i remember in tassy is sheep traffic. or Cow traffic. :) now
stop trying everything is say like its bad. im jokkingggg.

Want to scare away animals? Play some spice girls music through those horn things on your car!

Maybe you could build a big plexiglass bubble around it and just roll over everything
